I have officially begun the countdown. 3 more days until I depart on my senior year Spring Break trip to Savannah, GA. As I tick off the days and my excitement grows, it’s easy to overlook all of the things that need to be done before I hop on the road and leave my worries behind. Almost all of the interns at Radius will be in and out of the office these next few weeks. That being said it’s crucial to keep a few things in mind so that we can still operate effectively. What could be more appropriate for my blog post than making a pre – Spring Break checklist to share with the crew?
Things to do before dropping off the planet for a week:
(1) Get your ducks in a line! No one likes when a co-worker leaves without finishing up crucial tasks or providing others a plan of action. Make sure to check in with your supervisors and task partners before ditching the mobile phones for a more carefree style of living.
(2) Disconnect responsibly. If you are planning on being out of contact for the entirety of your vacation, set up an automated email response or change your voicemail. Don’t lead others to believe you are ignoring them on purpose.
(3) Healthy Body, Healthy Mind. Junk food runs rampant on Spring Break. Don’t fall into the fast food trap by forgetting to bring some healthy snacks. Fruit, hummus, and protein bars are easy to snack on in the car, and peanut butter and bread will save you some serious dough once you get to your destination.
(4) Don’t be THAT girl (or boy). You WILL be the talk of the office, and everywhere else really, if you show back up looking like a lobster. Not only are sunburns dangerous and painful, but you look ridiculous. Buy plenty of sunscreen and apply generously.
(5) Treat yo self. It’s your Spring Break! One day you will never have a Spring Break again. Relax, get some Zzzzs and enjoy the much needed time off. Leave your stresses back home and you’re bound to have a much better time.
Whether you plan on relaxing at home and watching Netflix all day, or you’re planning to hit the sand with only a swimsuit and flip flops in tow, make sure to keep these housekeeping tips in mind so you aren’t entirely overwhelmed upon your grand return!
Sincerely,
Online Marketing Intern
