It’s as simple as that.
I know it may sound cliché and you hear people say it all the time, but words are meaningless unless you truly believe them. This year, something within me has changed and I have felt this change physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—pretty much throughout every aspect of my life. This year, I’ve become very familiar with something called happiness. This year, I’ve woken up each and every morning knowing that life really is good. It’s an overwhelmingly wonderful way to live.
So what changed exactly? I don’t know if I can fully answer that question, but I do know that it begins with your outlook on life, including how you perceive experiences, what you allow yourself to think, and with whom you surround yourself. If you make it a goal to start and end each day with positivity, you learn to find and appreciate the people and things that make you happy instead of wasting your time on worthless dilemmas. Sure, life happens and obstacles are presented in your path, but it’s important to not let struggles and disappointments bring you down in the long run. Accept the bad days and treasure the good days because both develop you as a person, and choose to let it develop you in a way that makes you better than you were yesterday. In the end, everything works out.
Buddha said, “When you realize how perfect everything is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” One day when you just find yourself driving around or sitting there, smiling in awe of the life with which you’ve been blessed, you too will realize that life is good. Messy, difficult, confusing, and imperfect actually, but good. More recently and especially this summer during my awesome internship at RadiusOnline, I’ve focused on taking chances, seizing opportunities, trying new things, making every day count, and just enjoying the moment. I guess you could say it has been my own personal happiness project, and I guess it’s working.
Sincerely,
Online Marketing Intern
