It’s a new semester and there are four (or maybe three and a half?) new interns joining the RadiusOnline team! (Grace is a veteran.) We are so pumped to get started at this INCREDIBLE company, so we thought we’d share how our first week has been!

First thing I have to say, is that one day in, and I was already in love. Interning at RadiusOnline has been unlike any other internship I’ve ever had. I’ve experienced the big, international corporation side where no one knows your name and you get all the grunt work and you find yourself calling Apple Care because your boss’s mail app on her phone doesn’t work. And I’ve also experienced the intimate, start-up side where I am working out of the founder’s house as her only intern and am challenged everyday and have complete control over my work. Been there, done that.

RadiusOnline is completely different. I’ve never felt like more appreciated and valued like I’m “Helena” instead of just “the intern.” Here, I feel my inputs are important. My ideas are encouraged. That I am welcomed. I spent this week really getting to know everyone and settling in so I can hit the ground running next week.

I am so excited to see what’s in store for me at RadiusOnline. And I guess you can tell it’s going to be a fun internship when you spend your first day on the rooftop of a building watching the solar eclipse with the Atlanta skyline in the background.

When I left my final interview for this marketing intern position at RadiusOnline, I remember thinking, “I wish they’d just call and tell me RIGHT NOW whether or not I got it so I can either be the happiest person alive and celebrate endlessly or cry in bed for a day and move on.” A little dramatic, maybe, but after talking with LanNhi and Katherine, I was certain that there could not be a better internship out there for me. They were so easy to chat with, but everything they said had substance. As I learned more about the company, I realized it stood out to me so much because it’s full of passionate, intentional, hard-working and fun-loving people. As I was trekking through the days in this awkward, transitional (read: postgrad) time of life, I wanted nothing more than to learn from this crew whose values seemed to align so well with my own.

My first week will be coming to an end shortly, and let me just tell you, the aforementioned fairytale interview was not a facade! This place is AWESOME. On my first day, a coworker brought his dog to work (because that’s ALLOWED here), the entire team watched a solar eclipse from our building’s rooftop, and I bonded with my fellow interns over carrots and possibly the best hummus I’ve ever had. On a more serious/professional note, we’ve already been introduced to projects we’ll be working on, learned even more about the company’s amazing core values, and have been assigned meaningful tasks. I’m excited for a season full of learning! Stay tuned!

As I began my second semester interning at Radius, I was very quickly reminded why I loved my internship so much the first time around. Radius is comprised of some of the most genuine, hardworking, and kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, which is what makes this such a great place to work. There is a level of inclusivity here that I haven’t experienced in any of my other internships. I consistently feel as though I’m a contributing member of the team and not just an intern.

It’s amazing to see how much passion everyone has for everything they do here at Radius. You can tell that everyone is working towards something they care a whole lot about and not just showing up to get a paycheck. With every new project and new idea, the Radius team brings forward a level of enthusiasm and excitement that I didn’t know was possible in a work environment.

My first week back was absolutely AWESOME (as to be expected). I’ve loved getting to know my new fellow interns as well as reconnecting with all of my coworkers from last semester. I can’t wait to see what this semester at Radius has in store!

This week has been pretty exciting. I’m settling in here smoothly and I’m feeling a lot more comfortable around everyone. I’ve been working on my About Me Presentation and finding cool videos and effects to draw inspiration from for the videos we will be creating. Aside from the business, I’ve gotten to know a little bit about each person I’m working with. Everyone is so nice and very welcoming and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the semester has in store for me. I feel like this is a place where I can grow immensely and I am looking forward to it.

Outside of work, I take a Meisner style acting class on Thursday nights which has been awesome. I’m currently prepping myself mentally for the Game of Thrones finale. Also, I found a new burrito place called AgaVera on Huff Rd and it definitely has the best burrito I’ve ever had. It’s called the Burrito California and I swear it’s like a giant oval shaped piece of heaven drenched in melted cheese with beans, rice, guac, chicken, onions, and I’m actually getting worked up just talking about it. I’ve had four already this week. It’s fine.
