Sydney’s Closing Thoughts

April 16, 2014 Sydney Halinski

I’m a people person. I enjoy being around people, I like having people to eat with and I love having people to work with. There are a lot of things I will miss about RadiusOnline, but what I will miss most is it’s people.

When I first arrived at Radius six months ago I was the only intern. This didn’t keep me from being immediately inducted into the Radius ‘family’. Within a few weeks I was attending a wedding, joining in birthday celebrations, and participating in potlucks and competitions. Throughout my time here I have been able to witness the company grow in both size and closeness.

In an internship it is important to produce work that is meaningful. It is important to develop skills and to create experiences that will have an impact on your life. I could go on about the variety of projects I was able to accomplish or about the crazy number of skills I learned, but none of those would have mattered nearly as much to me if I dreaded waking up to go to work every morning. In 2.5 weeks I will be graduating from Georgia Tech and in 2.5 weeks I will be one step closer to being an ‘adult’. I can only hope that in my future I will be blessed to have a job that will provide me as much satisfaction as this one.

I am going to miss RadiusOnline. I am going to miss our team meetings on Mondays, and I am going to miss wearing jeans. I will miss learning about my fellow interns through their insightful blogs, and I will miss the projects I have been working on for the entirety of my stay. I will miss the random dogs that run around the office and the chocolate candy that taunts me throughout the day, but most importantly, I will miss being a small part of a small company that makes big things happen.
